DECAP CHRONICLES: circa 400,000 AD: MONROE

In the year 5,000 AD, twelve decap communities are transferred into twelve most likelihood futuristic virtual worlds to reverse engineer the world’s problems. The “Monroe” community continued existence for 400,000 years before reaching Extinction. In its decline notions of relationships underwent transformations from what gentlemen prefer, but the repetition became outdated and with it, the decline of life.

The Monroe community explored the Genesis theme of Eve not eating the apple and offering it to Adam. In a world without carnal knowledge, would there be any children or heterosexuality? In the 21st century advanced nations were experiencing birth declines. Their population growth was predominantly fostered by immigration from lesser developed countries with higher birth rates. As lesser developed countries became more developed, their birth rates declined. At some point afterwards cultural norms among all nations resulted in an overall decline in birthrates. What aspect of society continued to bear the burden of child birth then? Would first world mothers outsource their childbirths through foreign surrogates? In this new world order, would homosexuality and its family structure gain equal acceptance as the declining heterosexual family? Would women pursue single parenthood, intentionally?

Economic, health, career and disparage geographical jobs create pressures for the evolution of the modern family. The demography of marriage for those over 80 years is quite different from those for the thirty-something. And yet more and more are continuing to live beyond 80 years. Will healthy 80 year olds seek to change partners as the younger culture? Would the younger culture take on a partner to live to 80 and beyond, or would such issues as health, finances and other end of life concerns play a decisive role in determining a final partner? Are the many second and third divorces nothing more that securing this fit?

To be continued.
