Clarence ventured to an earlier time of walled cities, desert scapes and ancient words. Walking through The City, the coming of evening enveloped the surroundings with gradual darkness. The flicker of lamps straying through opened windows was the only solace given to the stars. As the evening cooled, windows were shut and he was left alone, a stranger in an unknown town, to fend for himself. “I’ll spend the night in that barn,” he murmured as the cold tore through his clothes. “Maybe in the morning, I would find the teacher that I have heard so much about.” Transcending time and thinking of his loved ones, he prayed for their well being and fell asleep.
